Preparation & Dry-Lay
Substrates: Walls must be flat, cured, and dust-free. Use 12mm fibre-cement boards for stud walls (do not use plasterboard in wet areas). Snap a level datum line and fit a temporary ledger for heavy panels.
Blending: Open multiple boxes and mix panels to balance natural shades. Dry-lay 1-2 metres on the floor to plan the bond and avoid repeating patterns.
Adhesive & Fixing Method
- Trowel the wall: Comb a uniform bed with a 6–8mm notch.
- Back-butter every panel: Apply a thin coat to the back of each piece for 100% contact.
- Press tight: Split face tiles butt together with no grout joints. Tap gently with a mallet.
- Clean as you go: Immediately wipe away squeeze-out with a damp sponge before it dries.
